Description

There is wide consensus within the scientific community that deep decarbonization of the energy sector is necessary in the next few decades to tackle climate change, and this can hardly be done without using all available low-carbon energy technologies including nuclear energy.

Yet, nuclear has little appeal to the public opinion and decision makers. Reasons of public adversity to the nuclear option are often rooted in misconception or ideological preconceptions.

The event aims to reach the public with top speakers and hands-on activities about nuclear technology and its future perspectives.

Join us for a two days full immersion in current and perspective nuclear science and technology, explained in clear terms that are understandable to a general, non-educated public. Visit the nuclear power plant that provides clean energy to Slovenia, Croatia and also Italy. Have a first hand experience of the control room simulator, in which crews that operate power plants are trained, and visit the World of Energy Museum just next the power plant.

Learn why nuclear power is vital in contrasting climate change and how latest and future technologies mill make it an even safer and affordable power source.

Discover the basic facts about radioactivity and other aspects of nuclear science and technology through an internationally sourced exhibition and discuss your interest in nuclear, or maybe your future career, with young professionals and scientist from many different countries. We look forward to meet you at Nuclear Days in Trieste!
